    Tamodine
    Hi again everyone,

Ive ordered some Tamodine for my BPs wounded scales (see this thread http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=41883) as the wait for the vets is sooo long! Iv still got an appointment, but Im really worried about infections so I thought Id start gently treating it now. This is Tamodine http://www.livefoods.co.uk/product_i...products_id=33. Firstl, has anyone used this before? I know most of u guys use neosporin (or something like that) but we dont get that over here in the UK. This tamodine looked ideal and the vet on the phone recomended using it until my appointment.
So, anyone had any experience with this?
And, how do u apply to such a small area on a snake? (see linked thred for pics of wound)

    Cheers

You could always use a Qtip to apply the medicine to the wounded area. Its soft and if he jerks suddenly it wont hurt him, but make sure you have a firm hold on him, cuz most likely he aint gonna like it.

    Hi,

Yeah we used tamodine occaisonally in the shop for minor scrapes - just make sure to follow all the instructions and you should be fine. If you have any doubts the vet should be able to advise you over the phone ,especially if you can email him the link to the pics. ( I have no clue if they will charge for this but wouldn't have thought so)

I agree cotton buds are the way to go to apply it and to go slowly and gently - you might also want some kitchen roll to wipe any excess caused by wrigglage etc.
