I've never seen him do that before. I usually just throw in 2 or 3 rat pinks* and leave him be... come back in about 10 minutes and they are gone. Well I checked on him after about 10 minutes and that is what I found.
*He could easily take a large rat fuzzy with out a problem, but he seems scared of them - so I give him 2 or 3 rat pinks. Hopefully he'll move up in prey size soon.

I looked at that pic and the first thing I thought was "oh nice milkbands, those are good calcium filled pinks!" LOL Great and unique pic!
