    which gecko would be better for my first? a gargoyle or crested? also i saw a crested at petco for 49.99 is that the usual price? it seems offely high

    Theres a crested for sale at a pet store near me thats 69.99. Online for different morphs of cresteds you could expect over 150.00 dollars. Most pet stores don't know much about reptile husbandry so be careful about purchasing from them.

    To answer your question. 49.99 is a very reasonable price for a crested gecko, and if its just a cheap lizard that your looking for, try an anole. you can pick one up for 2 or 3 bucks. :P

    cresteds and gargoyles have pretty much the exact same husbandry requirements so it's really up to which you like better. $49.99 is the cheapest pet store price i've ever seen for a crested and is just about the cheapest you will find one for anywhere really. you might find a plain baby crested online for slightly less but then you have to pay shipping which will double your cost.
