I've been researching crested geckos for a while now and I think It would be a good first gecko for your brother. If your brothers room stays between 60 and 80 degrees farenheit then there is no need for supplemental heat. You can use T-Rex brand CGD(crested gecko diet) to feed. This food provides all the nutrition a crested would need. They do like hunting and eating crickets so crickets once in a while along with the CGD are fine, and much appreciated by the gecko. Cresteds are an arboreal species of gecko so they will need a taller cage and many climbing furniture. They thrive in a more humid environment so misting 1-4 times a day is good. You don't have to worry about a water dish because they will drink from the beadlets of water that you mist the tank with. They are also a bit jumpy as juveniles but calm down with time. Check the caresheet on the site for some more info on 'em.

Ok i think he should get leopard because their pretty simple to maintain, all he would need is a 10 gallon tank, heatpad to go on the bottom, bedding-calcium substrate, and a few other supplies?i have had mine for about 4 years now!!!
