Need recommendations for building breeder rack
Hey All,
Hubby and I are getting into breeding BP's. We've done so much research but I'm having trouble finding info on building a rack to hold them. What size of sterlite tub is recommended for the breeders? Is it the same size as that recommended for a non breeding adult BP? Also, which type of sterlite tubs work best for the breeders? The tall ones (like the standard totes) or the short ones (sort of like the under the bed models)? Thanks everyone!

Most people use the CB-70 from Iris or the 1960 from Sterilite.

Here is a pic of a simple adult Melamine rack (middle one), it takes the Sterilite 1960 tubs (Wal-Mart) turned sideways.
Very simple to build, I use flexwatt under both the warm and cool sides, and a Herpstat II (2 separate temp control channels) to get my temps exactly where I want them.

Hope this helps ....

This is also sort of like that one, but instead of using hardware cloth for the tops, I used a sheet of melamine to hold in humidity since I don't have my rack in an area that holds humidity very well. I cut the melamine pieces a little larger than my sterilite 1960 tubs and screwed 1x2 to the sides and screwed the 1x2 into the 2x4(upright supports)

Thank you all so much for the PICS. That really helps! So it looks like the 1960 sterlites are the route in which to go! Thanks again. The info and pics are much appreciated.
