Those are spurs. The remains of hind legs I believe. They are usually larger in males and are used to "tickle" the females to get her ready to breed

I believe he's talking about what's inbetween the spurs... It looks like a sperm plug to me. If the snake recently shedded it could also be a piece of retained shed... That's my opinion...BUt I would say it's safe to say that it's a sperm plug. Whatever you do don't remove it!

I was told that if I was to see a sperm plug still attached to the snake not to remove it... Sounded like a good idea to me. I'd personally rather let the snake's dried up sperm come off on it's own as he slithered around his setup... I'm sure it's not too differen't than pulling it off yourself...But I'd feel pretty uncomfortable doing so... My opinion...:)

There is no reason not to pull it off ... just like a stuck shed ... remove it.
