    Paradox Hypo Super Mojave (DUW)
This ball python is unlike anything I have ever seen.

I found this picture on Bailey and Bailey's Reptiles website. Can someone please explain how they are making things paradox? Is this a gene?

If everyone could take a look at this page you will find some amazing crosses.

Amy you are most certainly correct!

Adam, can you please touch up on the topic of "Paradox." I have seen it added to many combos but never really heard of it being a gene(sp).

    xdeus thanks for fixing that!

At this point, the only thing they know about the Paradox is that it isn't a co-dom/dominant trait. But, unless something is changed, we still don't know if it's recessive or not. Up to this point Pardox's have been somewhat random (appearing in breeders collections with no warnings).

If I recall Tom's project (Crystal Ball Python) has the most appearances of the Paradox "gene" than any other. However I don't know if that means much since the Crystal project uses a Mojave X ? cross, and the Paradox seems to appear among Mojave's more than any other morph.

So we don't know at this point, but my uneducated guess is that they are just random events and are unlikely to be reproducible, at not 100% of the time. Hopefully I'm wrong though :).

Most paradox animals, such as paradox albinos, are not a typical heritable genetic trait and pop up randomly from time to time. Others may be. I think that Sutherlands have produced a couple of the paradox hs mojos, so there is hope that that may be bred for. Hope that helped a little.
