Why is it.......????

Why is it that all my snakes decide to deficate the day after I clean their enclosures?

LOL....every week....it is at least 2-3 of them after cleaning day..

this week it was both rainbow boas and the two coastals.....

Why is it that my monitors fill their water bowls with soil a half hour after I clean them out?

LMAO.....maybe they like dirty water? Keeping water bowls clean is freaking hard when they get dirty every 30 minutes....

Why is it that my snakes always seem to bite me when I am not paying attention?

....saying to themselves 'Thats what you get for turning your back to me!!"



Anyone else got some of those odd ball questions you ask yourselves when dealing with herps?......feel free to share ;)

Well think... how many times have you gone into a public restroom and gone, "Ugh! Nasty! I'll just wait til' I get home!" I imagine the snakes think the same. ;) :8:

My female corn ALWAYS cr*ps in the tank as soon as I put her back in after cleaning it - I'm not kidding max 20 minutes later I watch her do it.


One day she did 5 in a row before I finally broke down and left it in there as I was running late for an appointment and I swear she knew this was her day to win. :mad:

I actually started to wonder if they scent their territory in the wild or something.

If I could work out how to do it I'd have rolls of paper either end of the tank and a big crank handle to wind clean in one end and her little presents oot the other.

I swear if she wasn't such a cutie in every other way I'd farm her out to a fertilizer project - I can just picture her bum suspended over a conveyor belt while a tv screen shows her pictures of clean newspaper.

why is it the only time multiple snakes go into shed at the same time is whenever i'm going out of town?
every time, without fail, the day i leave to go out of town i do the final check and like 5 snakes are in shed. how am i supposed to monitor the humidity in your tubs when i'm not here!? gah.

why is it that the one time i miss the f/t rat that you didn't eat it is because it somehow ended up in your hide over the heat source?
2 days later and the smell of well-done carcass consumes me when i open the door to the herp room. yum.

why is it that every time you leave me a nice p00 you also insist on flipping over your water dish, flooding your tub and then wallowing in it all night long until i find you, stank butt nasty in the morning?
and you thought snakes didn't need baths.
