can you describe his/her tank setup? what are you using for heat? can you post a pic of the setup? did this just happen all at once?

From the looks of it, it looks like he/she is going to need to see a vet.
Was it like that before the shed?

That looks like a bad burn or very bad scale rot. Do you have his heating equipment on thermostats, and are they working properly? Are his temperatures measured with an appropriate digital thermometer to ensure they don't get too hot/too cold?

How is his enclosure set up and what are his temps and humidity? When did you first notice the irritation on his belly? Is his substrate wet or not clean?

Just a few things that need answered before anything can be said. He really needs to be seen by a knowledgeable reptile vet, get diagnosed, and be treated accordingly.

Poor belly. I hope you find the culprit soon and take him to the vet.

No one here can diagnose online my best advice to you is

1/ Replace your substrate with some paper towel so your BP his on a clean and dry substrate also make sure your temps are proper

2/ Make an appointment ASAP with an Herp Vet check this link for vet in your area http://www.arav.org/USMembers.htm

3/ While waiting for the vet visit you might want to clean up his belly with some betadine it can't hurt

His area is very clean, lives in a 40 gallon tank. with nice shaveings. His temps are all normal. The only thing i can think of... us that he had a weird shed this last time, where part of his skin came off perfect while the other part was a pain and on for awhile. The temps are all normal, im not sure what to say. Im gonna take him to the vet tomorrow and see what he says...

anyone know how much a visit costs? and if he does have scale rot can it be fixed?

Vet visit prices vary depending on what area of the country you live in.
I live outside of Wash. DC and my vet charges $75.00 for a visit.

Scale rot can be treated but you need to get your bp to a vet asap to be sure just what is wrong.

What do you consider normal as temps? How are you measuring them, and what is the humidity?

Vets charge different amounts. Seems that the average price for a vet visit is $50. That does not include any tests and medication on top of that.

Regardless, I seriously doubt that is a result of a bad shed.
