Got Me Some African Soft Fur!

I was down in Florida the last few days and got to pick some of these rats up.

I got 6 males and 12 females for $100. I'm down one male i had one of my big females that has not ate anything in four months.

Bam! Her fast is over it took about 30sec. I will be making the switch! Thats if they do.

I'll be posting pics soon.

What a coinky-dink ... I just got me some schlitz and beer nuts! ... ROCK ON! :D

I wouldnt brag about them to much!

You Do know it is a federal offence to have them in the states right??

i thought it was illegal to import them-----but once they're here you can raise them----i could be wrong----often i am, loss a lot of bets that way! :mad:

Once again, it is not illegil, much less a federal offense to have african soft furred rats. Check the relevant laws. 99% of african soft-furred rats in the USA are captive bred, not imports. It IS illegil(and a federal offense) to import them from Africa(without a large amount of permits and paperwork.
It's NOT illegil to have them. Buy them, breed them, feed them, pet them, or dress them in tutus and dance with them.

My rodent breeder said it was, So I took her word for it. Maybe you should double check? I dont really care all of my animals eat! Just trying to give someone a Heads up...

I realize that. I was told that they were illegil at two seperate shows, and I checked the regulations with the state and federal agencies. They are not illegil. They fall under the same sort of rules as seahorses. Importing them is only done with extensive permits, and lots of paperwork(they are CITES listed) but captive bred ones inside the country are fine.
I was told exactly the same thing about African pygmy mice, but as long as they are CB inside the country, again, they are fine.
