    Savu Python!
So a local shop sometimes gets in unusual reptiles. And they have a hatchling savu python. I’ve never seen one before so I did some research and found… diddly.

Anyone know about these? They’re supposed to be a smaller python, 4 feet, but beyond that and some basic care, I can’t find much.

This teeny hatchling was so adorable. It was all orange colored and curled up. OMG. lol I wanted to buy it right then and there, but I thought I should do some research before getting anything. ^^

Never heard of one. How much was it selling for?

Their husbandry is pretty much the same as a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, except most Liasis pythons can be a bit more forgiving than Rainbow Boas.

Savus stay small, maxing out at 4'.

    Sausage, $135.

Rocky, some sheets said they're nasty, others said not really, one said they even out when they get older. How's the one there?

The first one we got in was only in for 2 days and was pretty mellow....got sold fast...

The one we have in now has been in for 2 weeks and I handle him 4-5 times a week....was a little bitey at first but now is extremely tame...biting wise that is lol....Hes a fast little guy but eventually settles down and wraps around my wrist.....

I heard the same thing as you but they are beautiful snakes and I definetly plan on owning some in the future....If it is bitey, just handle him and tame him out...hopefully he'll calm down....

Let us know if you decide to buy it and make sure to post some pics!!

my savu is pretty nippy and not a very good eater only because he's so much more interested in biting me... good luck with it, they are very beautiful snakes though...

They are similar to a Macklotts python only smaller. I think they were once considered a subspecies of the macklotts? Maybe they still are?. In any case care would be similar, here is a care sheet on VPI's website for Macklotts.

Augh, he was gone when I went back. Apparently that money was burning a hole in my pocket because I bought something else. >_> *See boa section*

    LOL Blake, I'm sorry.

    Thanks MarkS.
