New BP and new to BP's
    Hello All,
We are the new proud parents of a gorgeous baby-ball!
We've named her (?) Abbey for reasons that will be apparent later.

First, as we are new to BP's- Check our setup.
She's in a 30x13x13 tank with limo tint on both ends and the back with a firmly clamped screen top. A temporary 10g repti-carpet, and a kitchen towel for substrate (lol) Large twisted grape vine and fake greenery and 2 identical hides warm/cool and a UTH on one end 90-95, cool side ~75. Having a little difficulty warming the cool end.

We got her Wed-evening, and Friday I took her to our herp-vet. The vet commented that she was very uncharacteristicly outgoing, curious, and friendly. Described her as "A real ambassador for her species" LOL. She didn't even throw a fit when Doc was looking in her mouth. After the exam Doc put her down on the table and she oriented, and came right to my hand. (proud mom moment) :D Oh, and aside from lack of fecal, she's 5x5! yeah!!

Got half a dozen Fz.fuzzies on the way home, and thawed a couple out, thinking she might eat (yeah I know- they usually want to settle for a week or so... but)

Well, she's a weirdo-ball, she readily ate both F-T fuzzies, and curled up under her grape vine to nap it off. So you can see why we chose her name. She is a super sweet snake.

    Here are a couple pics.

That towel will stink to no end, good news is you can use newspaper as substrate! Congrats on your purchase. This is an addicting hobby, don't expect this to be your only snake!

Also, be sure to read this caresheet and get your husbandry down or you will find yourself with an unhappy snake that does not eat.

I think there was some instances of snakes (although I think they may have been retics) swallowing a towel that was left in the enclosure. I'd ditch that kitchen towel, and use simple newpaper or paper towels.

Congrats on your new bp, and welcome to the forums.

    Thank you thank you Everybody

The towel is a Very Temporary measure.
Going to go get appropriately sized R-carpet today.

She's only been in this enclosure for about 16 hours.
And I made sure to hold the mice well off the floor. She was climbing around on the grape vine (I think looking for prey...) and she hit them both about 6" off the floor, so I wasn't too worried. :)

She is currently curled up in the dark/warm corner, I think sleeping. Body curled, head/neck extended out a couple of inches.

She's pretty, and she looks like she was enjoying her appetizer! She can easily take a hopper or small mouse at her size. A pink like that won't provide much nutrition to her at her size.

    Congrats on the new girl!
