    Yeah, the "jaws detach" thing is one of those prevailing myths that will likely never completely disappear. Thanks for posting that Mendel. On a side note, the quadrate bones in mammals have become the middle ear bone, the incus. Just one of those slices of info that stuck with me from vertebrate zoology. :D
