New Addition - Need some help
This little guy arrived this morning. He was cold and very lethargic. Almost no movement and no tongue flicking. I set him up in a nice warm tub and just checked on him again. He has had all day to warm up but is still lethargic. Doesn't really move at all and still no tongue flicking. I am a bit concerned with the way he is behaving.
Anyone ever deal with candoia? Any ideas on why he is so lethargic? I realize these are not a very active snake but there should eat least be some tongue flicking from it to take in the surroundings.

I know these are not active snakes but no tongue flicking and the fact that I can flip it on it's back and he barely moves, is a bit concerning.

where did you get him? why is he so cold?
Re: New Addition - Need some help
UPS delivered him this morning. He was cold in the box. The box had a heat pack in it but there were holes punched in the sides which allowed the heat to escape.

Update:
I have the heat up, the humidity up, and moist substrate with lots of hides along the way from the cool to the hot side and a large water bowl.
I gave him a nice long soak in warm water before. He appeared to be drinking (and I got the stuck shed off :D ). He has perked up a bit now and is acting more like a snake than a slug. The tongue is now working and he is moving about more.
I am going to leave him alone tonight and tomorrow and check on him tomorrow night again. He is in a very low traffic area. Only myself goes down there and that is only because he is in QT there now.
I think it is a combination of being young, the stress of shipping, and getting chilled and possibly a bit dehydrated.
He seems right now to be doing much better than a few hours ago. He actually moves now.
