Your Breeding Temps??

Since it seems there are 100 different ways to cycle for breeding ball python I was wondering what temps people are using. Day time highs and night time lows, hot spots and ambient. I’m thinking I may steal some ideas for next year.:)



My day time ambient or room temps are in the low 80’s with the night time lows being around 73-74



My day time hot spots are around 90 with no hot spots at night.

I have not changed temps at all, and currently have two out of two couples locked up. I just rotate them, giving them a few days to rest in seperate tubs again and/or have a meal, then I reintroduce them and get another lock..

I also do not change my temps and i have produced clutches 2yrs so far.My pastel male Bruno has bred Elvira & Lilly numerous times :cool: .Of course he gets 3 days rest between girls.

I'm chilling them for 2-3 days with zero hot spots.

Larry have you produced clutches using this method? Not doubting you just wondering :) .

No sir, this is my first year breeding. I've heard of breeders cycling short extreme temps both hot and cold to spark some breeding action. Things are a little slow around here so I'm giving it a try.

Ok let me know if you produce clutches using this method as its new to me.

There is no need to change temps..

I guess that if mine were not exhibiting any breeding behavior, I would look into temp changing as a way to maybe instigate breeding?

I've been following the temperatures as listed in Adam's journal on the 8ball pythons website.
