Couple rattie pics..
Here's a nice sized litter by Old Nora; she was a pet store rat in a 125-g multi-level, overcrowded tank with about 15 other rats; I had taken pity on her, brought her home pregnant, and she had a pathetic litter of 3. I gave her some time off to grow to full adult size and gain some weight, re-bred her, and here's the results!

Here's another pet-store rescue girl, all rat and ready to burst babies everywhere. :)

I like Nora, and it looks like she had at least one cute little hooded baby. Congrats on the litter, looks like a nice healthy group.

I really love my black hoodeds - so Nora is a sweetie pie to me!
I'm really debating on keeping two b/w hooded girls to be future breeders, their momma is one of my sweetest.
Why didn't you guys warn me how much I'd come to love these ratties?

Thanks :) I think she's actually a Bareback, looking at her again.. she seems like a great mommy though and will be around ehre for many breedings to come. :)

Breeding rats is soo much fun, cant hardly want to feed them off anymore? :rainon:

Re: Couple rattie pics..
I don't really enjoy breeding rats per se; if I got out of the snake hobby and didn't need them for feeders, I would definately not keep them anymore. :) It is fun though, seeing what offspring they produce.

I agree! I have to feed them off when Karl's not home. I even asked him - Karl, do you really think we could keep ALL of the babies? He's like, well YES!
Had to remind him again, that he didn't want to bring any rats in the house, he didn't care for them, and that we brought them in for the purpose of feeding the snakes. I think they've charmed him as well!
