New Blood and a few pics
Hey everyone it's been some time since I've been here but I thought I'd show up and share a few pics. I've been after a Blood Python for a while and finally got one on Dec. 27th. I took these pics shortly after he arrived.

This one is my third snake, my first was an Argentine Boa and my other is Snoopy my Ball Python, but this new one is the most nippy fellow I've ever seen. Hopefully in a few weeks he will start to chill out but regardless I couldn't be happier.

He will get the 1-2 week acclimation period and then I'll try feeding him. More pics to come once he settles down.

(For future reference, please don't post pictures wider than 800 pixels.)

Very cool blood. I'd like to own one, along with a BCI, some day.

He looks good. Hopefully he'll calm down a little bit for you after he settles in :)

Since bloods are prone to nippiness as youngins, I'd give him 2-3 weeks to settle in with no handling except cleaning. The wait will be well worth it. You could surely get by with a 1 week no handling period but I'd wait longer. He should calm down sooner or later. How old is he and where did you pick him up from? Is he is being quarentined?

He is a few months old. I got him from Ben Siegels Reptiles in Florida.

I have a good sized tank setup for him but I'm going to wait until he is a bit bigger before moving him in there. Right now he is just in a small tank with a hide box and some water.

Thanks for the compliments everyone and again sorry for the large pics.

I've read a few comments here on the board about Bed A Beast substrate. I was going to use Aspen for my Bloods new home when he gets big enough but the Bed A Beast seems much better for keeping a good level of humidity. Do you all think thats a good idea?
