King brown versus two jack russells
My uncle who lives in Sydney recently sent me an email about his friend who had an unfortunate run in with a king brown. My uncles friend, Mario, owns land just outside Sydney upon which he grazes some cattle. About a month or so ago Mario was out doing his routines with his two jack russells when he noticed the hair on their hunches stand up and the two dogs ran around to the front of Mario and started to bark and growl very aggressively. When he looked up to see what had set the dogs off he saw a large king brown coming straight for him and the dogs. Jack russells being the fearless and loyal dogs that they are took straight to the king brown to defend their master, as this was happening mario was trying to get his gun set on the snake but by the time he did the snake had tagged the dogs numerous amounts of times and both were dead inside five minutes of each other. I have attached a couple of pics of the dead snake to let yo see just how big this snake was

Wow, interesting story. Too bad about the dogs, though. I have a Jack Russel mix and she goes crazy with the snakes around here. Good thing there aren't any venomous ones in our area.

It's a lose - lose situation all around. That's a pretty depressing story... I need a pick me up after reading that. :(

Yeah it's not the happiest of stories but it gets better. Some guy was out gardening the other week in Adelaide when he got tagged by a king brown as well. Poor bugger was dead inside an hour. Hope i havent brought another dark cloud down on your day tiger lily :carrot:

Wow; those dogs gave their life for him.. it is sad that the snake had to die too. I hate the conflict between nature and man.. hard to take sides, really..

I put up with a jack russell every day, even with her being annoying and VERY naughty at times...I couldn't see her doing any less than what these two dogs did for their owner.
