*Peace and goodwill thread*
Lately I've been reading a lot of comments online(not just here at bp.net) about the lack of peace, tolerance and just plain civility in the world today. In an miniscule attempt at righting the situation, I'm starting this peace and goodwill thread.
I believe that in order to see and enjoy what we seek, we have to make a conscious and continuous effort to "add" to the much depleted pile. The rules for participating in the thread are pretty simple.
1) Say something nice about someone you know here or out in the real world.
2) If you have a grudge against someone due to some silly argument or another that got out of control, attempt to make peace.(This is where the effort on your part comes in, lol)
3) If you did something nice for someone here or outside, post it.
4) You cannot start an argument in this thread(kinda ruins the whole point ;) )
5) Keep it nice, clean and civil. :)
I'll start:
I wanna say that we have an awesome bunch of animal lovers in here. As a member and moderator of bp.net, I have never seen a group of people more dedicated to their animals! You guys and girls are simply the best! :colbert2:

What an excellent idea Raj.
I wanted to say how much I enjoyed Ed's funny frog pictures. I've been feeling slightly stressed and they brought a much needed smile to my face. I can't say how much I appreciate that.

Nice thread to start Raj, I am thankful I found BP.NET when I did. as I was becoming cynical about all the crap I was seeing on other sites and if I was a gun slinger, I would have been known as quick draw........ The kind people here have shown me goodness and civility. and have rejuvenated my enthusiasm and excitement in all things reptile and amphibian. Thanks all, it really matters. :)

Re: *Peace and goodwill thread*
I recently lost my Mexican redknee spiderling. I was very sad and posted on one of my boards about my loss. I got a lot of sympathy and support and it helped. Then I got a PM from someone saying they knew how I felt and that they, too, had lost their very first spiderling, which was also a redknee. He said that he had an eggsack of redknees and would like to send me one free of charge. I was amazed. I accepted his offer, and when the package arrived I opened it to find not one free spiderling, but two. He also sent a desert blonde. I was overwhelmed and astonished!!! I had never met this person and he went so out of his way to be kind and generous to a complete stranger. I felt and still feel very humble, grateful, and glad. I tried but I don't think I was able to express my appreciation and my gratitude. I still am in wonderment, so I will say it again, Thank you so very much, I can never, ever tell you how much this meant to me!!!!!

ah thanks guys *blush*
i am so deeply touched by the kindness and generosity of cue. when he sends balls to people, free of charge... as a kind gift to them... it makes my heart smile!
also, it's been so great treating my petstore customers (silkworms) with my christmas baking. the enthusiasm they gave me in return was so kind... it made me feel great inside.
thanks raj, it's so nice to do some "grateful fors" here! *hands everyone a couple of pecan butter tarts, some chocolate covered pretzels and a few whipped shortbread cookies*

That is what we need in this world. People are all out for their own gain, to basically step on anyone else to make a profit or get ahead.. Cue did something similar for me this year when i lost that hatchling and he sent me the awesome little '06 female, Luna.. :)
It is AWESOME to me, to know that there ARE honorable people out there.. every day I get sworn at over the phone, hung up on by people who will not accept responsibility for their spending and pay up their bill. I get called names, verbally assaulted, and generally by the time I leave I am convinced that the whole world is madeup of responsibility-shucking losers.. but then I am reminded that there are people out there who are not full of false ideas, irrational fears and judgementalness..THANK YOU everyone here, for giving me a slice of comfort and sincerity that I really don't see in any other forums.

Re: *Peace and goodwill thread*
Well where do I start in my thanks....
to Adam for always being there for Mike and I whether it was with advice on stuck eyecaps, how to save a starving W/C rescue, helping us decide which direction to go on certain projects or just plain old being a giving guy who really cares about snakes and the folks that are fascinated by them....
to Robin for being a constant and giving friend....for the lovely female snake Cara, gifted to us when we suddenly lost our beautiful little striped female, Teagan....
to Chris (cueball) for making our little son smile big with the gift of his first BP, the gorgeous, Helori...nothing touches a parent's heart more than their child's joy....
to Jeanne for being a bud and many hours of phone gabs that kept us both sane (or semi-sane LOL)....
to Becky who taught me and continues to teach me about the rats and mice so that they are more than just "food for the snakes"....also for opening her heart and home to Sonja (aka Rauri), giving that gorgeous snake a wonderful forever home....
to Jamie for the laughs, the support when I needed a kick in the hiney and for just being the wonderful unique person he is.....
to Christie, Judy, Aleesha, Sheree and all the women that laugh here together, joke around, care and support each other in our lives as moms, wives, life partners and herpers.....
to Kara who even though so many of us hold her up as our ideal, hero worshipping and all that...never fails to keep it real...to share one's passion in life with a such an open heart and soul is a true gift....
to the newcomers and the oldtimers who all contribute to the wonderful mix that is BPNet, thank you all so very much. Have a wonderful holiday season!

Re: *Peace and goodwill thread*
I would like to give thanks to all that make this place the wonderful place that it is. It's very important to me and something I look forward to every single day. A place where people from all over share my same passion and interest. A place where people come to learn, share, laugh, hang out and be a part of something great. I look back over this past year and hold the memories tightly.
I would like to also give a special thanks to Jen and Jo for letting me be a special part of their lives. This gave me purpose beyond words.
