    More baby rats!!! 13 to be exact! Pictures!!
    My female hooded just had her litter and I counted 13!!!

    You shouldn't handle them until about 1-2 days after they're born. It stresses the mom and makes her very apt to reject the babies. How old is the mom? She can't be more than 3-4 months old if I remember the litter she came from.

    Probably why your hairless female only raised 3 babies the first time and 2 the second. Didn't produce enough milk and was stressed out.

    But that's just my 2 pennies.

    This mom is....well from my first litter of rats. The hairless mom retired to feeder status a while back. They are over 1 day old for sure. The others from the last litter are just starting to show there pattern now too. Its so cute. Mom is trying to feed them all and she is standing like an arch to do so. Its so cute!!!

    You feed off your breeder moms? I think I read you've fed off breeder males too after just a few cycles?

    Ya, I don't have the space to keep retired breeders around. They wouldn't be pets either way though, my allergies are so bad I have to use a mask when I clean the cages.
