Any reptile or rat club/societies in Richmond, Va?

I was wondering if there are any reptile or rat clubs here in Richmond, Va. The most I've been able to find are reptile rescues (which if I have the spare time, wil put in an application to volunteer.) My family and friends are not what you'd call snake-fans. Most tolerate my talk of my snakes and I notice that when I get excited and want to show off pictures of my new snake and talk about Zim and the possibility of getting more snakes and some rats, they kind of half-listen. So then I shut up and the discussion is over. This is the only place I have to talk about my snake and other pets without getting on other peoples nerves because it seems I'm the only one around here who likes snakes and rats. My family and friends don't.

I've never heard of any herp societies around here...but there's definitely some interest in the area. We're out there ;)

If you join a rat club, I don't suggest telling them you have snakes. I don't see that one going over too well even if you do keep some rats as pets
