My New Breeders
I got a couple of new breeder rats. For some reason (semi-new to this forum, too much cold Rx, or blonde roots) I cannot figure out how to post photos. So here are the links:
My Blue Male: http://www.ball-pythons.net/gallery/...=3&userid=1444
My Unknown (Coffee colored) Hooded female: http://www.ball-pythons.net/gallery/...=3&userid=1444
What do you think?
And how do I post pics???
Thanks,
Tammy

Re: My New Breeders
Click on the pick you want to post, and under it you will see BB Code.... just copy and paste that into your thread. You just lack the [IMG] tags.
Very sweet looking ratties you have there. Hoodeds just have a special place in my heart. :D

Re: My New Breeders
you add [img] tags around the address of your images and then be sure to close the tags [/img] or you can look at the BB Image Code below your image within your gallery.
so... here's your images:

Re: My New Breeders
Your blue looks just like my blue girl, Scarlett!
Congrats! I'm loving every minute of my ratties!

Re: My New Breeders
Very lovely rats. The Russian Blue Self (looks a bit too steely grey and dark for an American Blue) is a really sweetie but I'm not sure what the hooded color is...maybe a Mink Hooded, or a Cinnamon Hooded (kind of light though for a cinnamon and no red tones). Becky might know the name for that color, whatever it's called it's a very nice color. Congrats on the new ratties! I'm still learning so much about their colors and coat patterns, it's quite a fascinating side hobby to the snake collection.

Re: My New Breeders
I have a few Cinnamon, and they are nothing alike... there is a greyish undertones to Toffee... A lot like a cafe au lait color. I'm hoping to see what happens when I breed her to the Blue. I was thrilled to find him - and not a speck of white on him anywhere!!! I may try to snap some pics of the rest of my gang today.

I'm not sure how it will result for you, but my girl is a blue self, not a speck of white on her either. She was bred to a black hooded and the result was all black berkies (13 of them). You won't get any blues from them, unless she's also carrying the blue gene. You could keep one of their daughters and raise her up and line breed her back to dad though!

Re: My New Breeders
Yep from what I understand you breed your blue male, keep back his nicest best marked daughter and breed her back to dad. She should be 100% het for blue and when line bred back to the dad should produce visible RB's for you. Well unless the lovely hooded female just by chance has recessive blue genes then you might get blues from their breeding.
