The pied ate tonight :) a nice Rat Pup. Normal BP ate, and the RTB ate...the Het Pied bit, constricted, but didnt eat :(
oh well, i'll just try again.

Possibly stress related. How much are you handling and how are the conditions in the enclosure? Feeding time is usually stressful on them. If the bp bit and constricted but did not eat, it was probably feeling vulnerable for some reason. I'm guessing more time to "settle" in is needed. In the mean time, toss some loosely crumpled newspaper inside the enclosure to provide more security, if you have not already done so.

Raj already mentioned this - but this is usually a sign of stress or an unsettled snake. Check your husbandry - make sure the enclosure isn't too large (if it's a baby, a 15 quart tub would be perfect for it, much larger could cause stress) and that everything else is perfect and you aren't overhandling it.

I have a 150-200 gram ball python in a 28 qt. tub. Does this classify as much bigger? ;) He does eat every week.

Well. I don't thing its stress, and if it is, i dont know why. I refuse to handle him untill he eats, he has crumpled newspaper in there, and his husbandry is great. But, i got him from Adam, who is helping me out a lot :)

When my new ones eat, I leave them covered with a blanket.. I watch until they constrict, and then toss a blanket or towel over the whole cage (though once in the rack, this is tough; but I have seperate tubs not in the rack for quarantining newbies.) I peek in, in about an hour to make sure the food is gone (it is.)

I always have them against a wall,so one side of the tank is covered, and then i puta nice cloth/blanket thing over it, so the tank is covered on 3 sides at all time.
