    What gender are you?
In so many areas of the internet (and computer use in general), males have long outnumbered females. One of the things I notice here is that there are far more active female members than in other areas (non-herp) that I frequent.

So I'm curious about the gender ratios on this board, particularly considering how often I've heard "Whoa...you're a girl who likes snakes?".

Along these lines, its kinda cool to see the evolution of gender roles. One of the schools I work at (career tech center) has all kinds of trades programs. I haven't really seen any of the classes that are stereotypical gender wise.

I was going to name specific programs like automotive technology and compare how their are both males and females in the program just like any of the others...but then I realized that I would sound like I was stereotyping :P

I belong to other forums and for some reasons every time I answer a herp related post people assume I am a man (since on other forums I don't put m name). Looks like a lot of people still think that if you are a woman you are afraid of snakes

    female last I checked.
Females tend to outnumber males on all of my equine boards as well as my dog obedience/agility boards.

Male. I have to admit, when I look at posts with names that are not gender specific, I often catch myself assuming the poster is a male, no matter what board I am on.

I think it's cool that "trans" was an option. It can be very difficult for trans or intersexed people because our society is so used to a 2 gender system.
