    Question about Females...
I have 3 females(2 normals and 1 het Lavender) set aside for my male het Lavender. He will currently breed the 2 normals almost immediately upon introduction, but with the het female he starts lining up his tail but does not breed. He is currently in with the het female and they have been wrapped up with their tails aligned almost constantly for the past 3 days. He seems to want to breed but the female does not seem willing. I have seen them locked up twice about a month ago. I have read tons of tricks for getting the males to breed but I have not really heard any tricks for the females. If anyone has any tips please let me know. The female is about 1900 grams. The below pic is from about a month ago when I actually did see them locked (at least I think they were locked). The times that I did see them locked last month were immediately after the female had shed.

    It's Murphy's Law.. the normals want him, but the het doesn't. ;) ;) ;)
I would give it some time; maybe the real pros (not myself, hehe) will know how to advise you a bit better on this one. My Pastel completely ignored Ginger the first night they were together, but the next morning they were on luckup.. don't give up.

Yea, it is just my luck that the 1 female that I really want to breed is the one that is being stuck up. Out of 16 females that I am trying to breed 14 are breeding well with the only other non breeding female being a regular het albino.

I would say that if you are counting the lock in that picture as a copulation, I would say not. Their cloacas are too far apart for that to be a lock in my mind, however, it may just be the angle of the picture. I don't really know of any tricks, but do know that some of my pairings have locked up, and then when reintroduced, they will not. Then low and behold a month later they will lock up again. This is one of the more frustrating parts of breeding. Sometimes they will, and sometimes they won't. Also, I find that they ones that really drive us crazy, are the ones we are wanting to breed the most. It just happens that way sometimes. Good luck on that pairing, and I hope you get a Lavender.

Put the het male, het female, and a normal female that the male has been breeding with together in a tub for a few days.

I'm pretty sure they were locked. They stayed like that for about 12 hrs.

Looks like Adam's idea worked. They were locked up when I checked on them this morning. Thanks

Oh thanks Adam. I'll remember this little breeders trick for the future.
