BP's require high humidty and temps...why don't they freak out when handled?
I'm just trying to think logically here...since BP's require a much higher humidity than most humans live in as well as much higher temperatures (my home is at 70 degrees here), why don't BP's have an adverse reaction to being outside their viv for longer than a few minutes?

sorry but i'm not following you here. my house is higher than 60% humidity... (as we live in a tropical rainforest climate and have lots of huge fish tanks and fountains in the house) and in the summer... our house gets above 100 degrees...
so... why would they freak out???

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Delta is referring to a bps "reaction" to a sudden drop in ambient temps.

Yes that was what I was making reference to. My home is at 40% humidity at best in the winter and kept at 70 degrees....I can't imagine going from a nice warm tank to a livingroom kept at this temp wouldn't bother the snake. Not a big deal for those of you in warmer areas I guess.

Well I do think they will eventually have an adverse reaction. Remember snake's don't always react in ways we understand or have reactions that are obvious and immediate (like a human shivering for instance when suddenly exposed to a drop in temps). Your snake may not "freak out" but it may over time and exposed to a lot of cooler room temps outside it's home, develop illnesses and/or a depressed immune system due to stress, etc. I think it's all about balance and putting the snake's needs first. If your home is very chilly then avoid exposing the snake to it more than necessary or keep the snake in contact with your warm skin. Don't sit in a drafty room or keep the snake out for hours....just common sense things like that really.
