Made an offer I couldn't refuse
    Good news finally!
The VP of Global Finance stopped by today and asked if I would be interested in making the move from my current position in Corporate to one in the Americas region. Basically being responsible for the U.S. financials as well as assisting the VP with the regional work.
This would be taking what I do and expanding it. Also more room to advance up.
The pay they offered to entice me to take it was VERY good.
So..........Effective Jan 1st, I officially move into this new position. As an added incentive and a good faith gesture, the new payscale is going to be retroactive to take effect as of Dec 1st while I make the transition. Awesome! Extra money for home bills and Christmas.

Ahh. I work for a London owned company so they are different from how American companies operate. This place still provides medical, dental, etc as well as pet insurance (a healthy pet makes a happy worker LOL). Too bad none of the doctors in the network treat herps.:(

They also provide all the D&D coffee you can drink all day, everyday with donuts and bagels in the morning. This is also one of the few companies left in the country that has dedicated smoking facilities (lots of people from other countries always visit in addition to some that work here full time).

It was culture shock when I came here 2 1/2 years ago from Citigroup. I thought there was an alterior motive behind everything the company did for people.
No wonder the turnove at the company is less than 2 percent and the average length of employment by current workers is 10 years. No one ever leaves. LOL.
