Re: Bearded dragon dicovery
Heres a better description, Scientisits have found a slight venom used for parilizing small insects. As beardies get older they become more vegie eaters than anything so scientists have resaen to believe they loosew their venom toxicity as they grow into maturity. Keepers have no resean to worry though because the beardies slight venom is barley enough to harm an insect let alone a human and on top of that beardies have a calm, delightful nature anyway.
Re: Bearded dragon dicovery
Do you all have a better resource other than that site? because that link only brought me to the front page of the shop, and i couldn't find anything about beardy's and their toxicity.

Re: Bearded dragon dicovery
Those storied have been going around for a couple years now with very proof. What it is IMO is just a minor bacteria that causes itching and some slight burning. It was said that all iguanids(sp?) and varanids have this venom. I have been bitten by monitors(mainly Asian monitors) that cause the iritation aswell as a few iguanas. Its much like the Komodo IMO just not on such a toxic Level. This is just from my experience and what I have read that I agree and disagree with.
Just my 2 cents

Thats what i was thinking,it just causes some type of ittitation. If it isn't a scientific artical and is on the internet, it needs to be evaluated very closely.

Those articles have been going around for a while now. They were looked into by many scientists.
