Are those retained eye caps?
So my snake had a successful shed despite my anxiety and confusion. It's all in one piece, though I need to further inspect that the bottom of the head came off (I couldn't find that on the shed part). Also, I only see one shed eye cap. I don't think that the snake has retained it, but I don't know what it would look like. Would I be able to tell for sure? I know it is possible that the eye cap is in the tank somewhere. Should I go sifting or not worry about it? Otherwise she seems great and was acting very slinky think morning--seductive in her new skin, I guess. In any case, are retained eye caps obvious?

Eye caps aren't a big deal. If he/she still has it on then it should come off with the next shed. If it's off, then it's off. I wouldn't worry about trying to find it.
Re: Are those retained eye caps?
Sounds to me like you've had a very successful shed. Sometimes bits of it (like the bottom of the jaw and/or pieces of the head) will break off and get lost.
IF the snake has a retained eyecap, it looks kind of like the snake is wearing an oversized contact lens that has jaggedy edges. And as Allison just said...IF that's the case, just leave it alone. The snake will either rub it off itself, or shed it off next time around. Better not to risk permanent eye injury by messing with it yourself when its not necessary.
