    Black Mamba
    Anyone know where I can find some really good pics of Dendroaspips polylepis? Specifically good size references if possible - I imagine they're hard/impossible to hook though- and/or a good shot of a mamba's open mouth from the front. I've got their coloring and bodytype down, no prob, it's just the face and size I'm trying to capture at this point.

    Not sure if this goes here or in the creative corner, but as I welcome posted pics here as well as links that I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see them, I figured this was the spot. If I find some more good ones in my search, I'll post them here too. :)

    I'd found the first one, but the other three especially the middle two are exactly what I need! Thank you!! :hug: My google-fu needs work, lol.

    Also, I found a cute vid while I was hunting about the black mamba.

    Mamba to herds in Andre the Giant voice: "Everybody Move!!"

    I've got another beauty snake "Medusa" being colored, an anaconda Medusa being inked, and I just started penciling another piece (heh, I like to multi-task) that's a portrait of the Egyptian goddess we named our hotot bunny after, Unut. Before we knew he was a boy, lol. :rolleyes: Still suits him.

    Unut was originally a snake goddess who was turned into a hare headed goddess later on. I want to portray both her snake and hare side. :) She was called "The Swift One" so I thought... What's the swiftest African snake I can come up with... naturally, the Mamba! :D

    Hee, thank you! :D He's a cutie! I need to do a rubber boa Medusa too in his honor. With herping gear and matching rubber boots. But only 3 things at a time! :P

    "...hapless family of squirrels..."

    Please! What about the "hapless family of bugs" the squirrels ate?! No one's crying for them...

    Dear National Geographic,

    squirrel = food

    Squirrels in domestic areas break into garbage cans, rip open cat food bags and leave muddy paw prints everywhere - they are not "cuddly" and "oh-please-don't-show-the-mean-old-snakey-eating-the-squirrely-wirrelies!". I'm all for the hungry black mamba to eat a healthy squirrel snack, so for the love of being a Federally-funded nature education organization, quit siding with the damn squirrels and show us the nice snakey striking, killing and eating his dinner!

    Signed,
    A taxpayer
