    not looking good
So on tues, I took my BP to the vet, worried that the BP was dehydrated I had to do an intense course of fluid syringing in to the BP.

I am very very concerned now.

The BP looks very swollen in the lower half of his body, what does this mean?

When I picked him up to give him another syringe, a slime like substance came from his mouth. But this happened 3/4 times.

He has also stopped moving at all, I think this is related to the swollen ness

I have stopped the syringing, what should I do?

Sounds like a vet is needed right away. Once a snake starts fading you can lose them fast.

Take him back to the vet ASAP!
Bump up his heat to about 95. Also get a tub or a tank... something and fill it up with about an 1 inch of warm water and put the snake in there to soak for about 40 minutes. This will help break up some of the mucus and also help hydrate him too. But yes... a vet is needed to been seen asap, no way around it!

well I took him to the vet straight after I put the post up:

WIth some light massaging and a liquid expplosion from the rear end of a BP, the swelling has subsided.

A fecal sample an dsaliva sample were done, and the result is uncertain.

Luckily for me I live in Liverpool, and there is a world renowned reptile pathologist at the university Udo Hetzel. With a quick phonecall from the vet Udo very kindly said he would look at the samples. And is doing so as we speak.

The vet think it may be a parasite cryptostomisis?(i think thats what its called) Which doesnt fair well with the BP as there is no current cure for this parasite. Although the vet does have 2 very healthy tortoises with the same condition, that have had it for many years.

Just a waiting game now. Hopefully the worst (listed) above, does not come back in the results from the tests!!!

well i have just come back from the vets,

unfortunatly the news is not good, the condition is not curable, however I am trying with the treatment as there is a slim chance he willl b ok, but normally they dont eat and starve to death

as for WC not sure, the worm eggs, are a mystery, they are slightly elongated so if anyone cnan shed light on this it would be of great help, as t would help indicate whether or not it is CB or WC. Even the pathologist was baffled, and he is world renowned.

it is a condition that was with the snake when i brought him. Ill keep the care going and let you all kno how he fairs on monday!!! hopefully he'll pull through.

    thanks for the support!!!

Make certain you keep that animal far far away from any other pets you have...you don't want that spreading around.
