Let us know how it going Mike and best wishes for a speedy snakey recovery. A good vet and a caring, responsible owner that catches these things quickly is always best for any snake.

I've been checking on him all night and I haven't heard him make a sound. Actually, I think I was the one making the whistling sound haha. When it gets dry out my nose runs and of course the snot dries and people get whistlers :D . You guys think I should still make an appointment or check on him for the next 24-48 hours? I checked him again this morning and he shed last night and looks amazing! But I held him this morning and not a single whistle, pop, crackle and no mucus from his nostril.

well it certainly is your call here. I really don't have any creditable experience with RI's, but if you feel that there truly is no problem, then keep the change and save up for other snakes :D

That is very likely the source of your whistling sound. Much like the "dried snot" we get ( :giggle: ) they can get "whistlers" from flakes of old skin during the shed process.

He might have made a little noise during the shed. Keep an eye on him he may be fine. Handle him and see if has any trouble breathing. They usually increase their breathing when being handled(although he's pretty mellow) and you can see the flem build up or hear wheezing. If you want I can come by and take a look at him. Unfortunatly I got alot of experience last year with an RI. But once again he just may have been whistling through his shed.
