    My first Mac
I do computer and network support for schools as my "day job" as some of you know. Anyway one of the primary buildings I support now has a couple mac labs and mac users. I haven't worked with mac's in years and even then it was very very limited. Well in light of this I speced myself out a new macbook pro before the break and it was approved by the higher ups. I got it today and must say its a very slick unit, nice and thin with no extra bulk or sensless housing designs. I haven't had much time to get into yet this morning but hopefully this afternoon I'll be setting up boot camp and getting XP installed so I have both OS's to work from.

I have just spent the last 10 minutes or so playing with the built in camera and affects...hopefully no one walked by my door and caught me laughing at myself histerically...:P If I can figure it out I'll post the pic that got me going.

My hubby and I have been using Macs for the last 4 years. We love them! Really much easier to use than a windows system and no dreaded blue screen:eek: The only down side I have found with the macs is that the software is way more expensive! We have both have emacs with 1 ghz processor, 1 gbt hard drive with super drive:D

Macs are indeed nice. I do not choose mac over windows, or windows over mac. Both computers have their pros and cons and i think it's a silly argument. I like having access to both. Right now i'm on a Windows because i run a lot of software that is Windows based.

Well I got xp installed on the mac, just finishing it up with the drivers and what not. I think I'm going to love this machine!

Congrats on liking your new 'puter.

Rick and I could star in one of those "I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" commercials....

I have a buddy that shoots still cameras for the news paper. He would try and beat all the other private photographers(SP?) and as soon as he took them he would send it to the papers and they would pay him to use them. So this all ties into the fact that he would rely on a mac (wireless internet) and he loves it.

Hope you have fun with it.
