Help Please!

Tonight my fiance' pulls out her bp, and it is making an odd breathing/almost gasping for air sound. Much like a human would do with a respitory infection. Any ideas/thoughts would be much appreciated.

Could be a respiratory infection. Make an appointment with the vet as soon as possible.

That was my initial thought. I'm going to have to call the vet tomorrow and see when I can get Ramses in. :( Poor guy sounds like he is having a really hard time breathing but there is no mucus or anything around his mouth, yet. I hope to catch this in time to help him.

BP's do indeed get respiratory infections. It needs to be treated by a vet. First thing tomorrow morning, make an appointment with a vet in your area with snake experience. (I'll get some links for you in a moment)


In the meantime, bump up the temps some. Until you can get in to see a vet, keep them around 95 warm side and 85 cool side. No lower.

Thanks, yeah I've already got a vet in mind so I will be calling him in the morning I just hope he is open considering Thanksgiving and all, you never know.

Most vets do provide an emergency number or have an answering service. Do mention that the snake is breathing audibly and seems to be struggling so they don't book you for a week away or something like that. Best of luck with getting the snake back in good health as soon as possible.
