Psammophis experience anyone?

A local shop that occasionally gets some rats from me ordered a sand boa and instead wound up with what appears to be some sort of Psammophis.

I'll have to get a good picture after Thanksgiving but this is the closest google image search result I could find so far:

has anyone ever dealt with any of the psammophis before?

Never heard of it before. Looks neat though!

Thats like the Egyptian Sand Snake or in that family. They're rear fanged and there venom is alot more poten than most think. Also, im not 100% about it though.

I've looked into keeping some of these guys before. They are very alert captives, are quite fast, and have a fairly potent bite potential, although not fatal. I would still like to work with these in the future sometime, as I have an attraction to all the rear-fanged snakes, they are definitely on "the list". Are you thinking of adding them to your collection? Consider them "warm" and treat them as such (wearing light gardening gloves and long sleeves while handling) and you shouldn't have any problems. Here is a pic of thier rear fangs, pretty nice shot.

Also, they seem to feed mainly on lizards in the wild, especially as neonates, but many have had success getting adults/sub-adults to eat rodents in captivity. This page has a few pics of psammophis species, is it any of them?

Compare it to this. i could never figure out what type of snake this was. Its alot larger than the SAHARAN(said egyptian last time) Sand Snake though. This particular snake also had about the same size fangs as posted above.
