    Help with crestie
ok so i was just in PA and got a crestie for an early xmass gift and 10min. in the drive home he went stiff :( sniff* i spoke to a clerk at petco and she said to purchase one when i got back to newyork

I am back in new york now and i am going to a locat petco to purchase one in the morning (about 8hours)

I was wondering if there is any special care i need to take when transporting my new gecko from the petstore? it is a little chillie out here so how could i transport it safely? I tried to keep him warm by putting its containers next to the heater but im wondering if that was a little too much heat for the lil guy. Any helpfull tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
plllzzzz help me keep th is bugger alive, he was so cool.

so the gecko is still alive now? how is it acting? still stiff or back to normal?

make sure to keep it well hydrated for the next few days. mist often and provide a very shallow water dish (not to deep or it could drown). don't handle it and put it in a quiet, low traffic area to reduce stress. do NOT heat the enclosure. cresteds prefer temps between 68-80 degrees--anything over this will stress it and can cause a fairly rapid death.

as long as the temps outside aren't lower than 70 you can just transport it normally. otherwise. i would just warm the car before bringing your crestie in and then just keep it warm but not hot.

i have to ask you a question.

how would you know how it was doing while you were in the car? it's very stressful to transport these little guys (or any critter for that matter) and opening up their box to peek in is NOT in their best interests.

I had it in a clear container with some bedding provided by the pet store, they said it would be fine and every like 2 minutes i was asking my sister which was with me to look at him and see if he was ok, then after a while he didnt move and like my heart droped so i rushed back to the petshop.

he was probably fine... just not moving around due to stress.
