Tai is Growing - What a Beauty--- Snake
Well my 06 Taiwan Beauty Male shed yesterday. Wanted to get some shots with something to provide scale but no one was at home so had to do the old hold him out and take a shot in your hand thing. Remember this lad was born in July, so he is only 4 months old.
First this is him in August at a bit over a month in age

Cute little dude no? Now check these next ones out, you can see his yellow starting to come in nice but look at the size difference. Again the above shot is from August only 90 days ago!

One last thing to consider I am a pretty big guy about 6' and about 230 lbs and I wear a size 13.5 ring! Tai is bigger then he looks.
It is so cool to watch these guys grow but this one is going like crazy and can take two adult mice already, his rate of growth is impressive and I would say at this pace he may be bigger then my two 05s by Feb/March
They are not the best pics because while he is friendly he is very fast and active and I also think he was pretty hungry after fasting for his shed cycle. He has a belly full now and is snoozing in his cave,

How many mice/rats does he eat a week? I may need to get one to help with surplus rats

He is now on two adult mice a week. Adult but not what I would call big, I'd call em small adult honestly. I will keep him at this rate as long as he is growing fast 18-20 months or so. Once they hit adult size you really back down to 1 every 7-10 days.
I get a lot of heck from folks that say I over feed but I only feed heavy when the animals are growing and they do ocassionaly turn away food. Anyway I have never had a problem.
Some people say that Taiwans turn down bigger rats and tend to like thinner prey. I don't know I have never tried to feed a large rat to one but any rat or mouse that looked reasonable has been terminated with undue haste by my three thus far.
Just don't expect them to eat at a hi rate once grown, I do think he would eat more if I let him though, the guy is a real pig, :rolleye2:

He's gorgeous!! Simply gorgeous! Not that I'm biased toward beauty snakes or anything. :D

He's gonna be a big boy in no time if he keeps growing at the rate he is currently. Beautiful snake!
