    Can I expect eggs
I placed my 1050 gram male with my 2100 gram female on the 22/08/06 and got a lock straight away. Since then I rotated my male in and out for feeding and saw around 5-10 more locks( yes wanted to make sure).

I don't really check on them everyday so would it have been possible to have missed the ovulation?

My female just shed 3 days ago, will not accept the male and stopped eating around 2-3 weeks ago. Are these good signs.

Can I expect eggs in around 2 weeks u think?

It seems a little too soon. You may have missed the ovulation, but it could also be a pre-ovulation shed so you might see the ovulation in the next couple of weeks after shed.

There is no set time from copulation to ovulation. Ovulation depends completely upon how developed the female's follicles are. Try palpating her and see if she is even delevoping follicles. It will be pretty obvious if she is getting close to ovulation as the follicles will be quite large (they will feel like somewhat stiff large marshmallows). If she is not developing follicles, you will not get eggs no matter how many lock-ups you see, simple as that. With practice you can follow the development of follicle size, estimate ovulation, and predict how many eggs you can expect with pretty accurate results. The behavior you described sounds encouraging, but I agree that it is too soon to have a fertile clutch in her.

Just to let everyone know that no eggs were laid by the 17th so I thought I might have been dreaming that she looked bigger.....not so I returned from holiday today and there the eggs were. 7 eggs and they don't look good. 4/7 look blue and don't smell good. Still large but 2 have seemed to sink(like melt) 3/7 look ok still but we will have to wait. I quickly setup an incubator and now I will wait.
