    My first parking ticket
I got my first parking ticket today and I highly doubt I'll get out of it. I put 2 hours worth of quarters in the machine. However the machines around my work sometimes malfunction. I had put 2 hours in at 1:30 and I walk out to my car at 2:45 and I see a ticket on my car and my meter was up. I'm so pissed 'cause I really wasnt planning on spending an extra 40.00 on this damn ticket. Wish me luck getting out of it.

yeah good luck getting out of it. i bet there's no way you can prove that you put 2 hours worth of quarters in.....i doubt it would be worth the time and effort to see if that meter has a problem. who knows..maybe there is a way. If you know you put 2 hours worth, then stand up and fight and don't let the system walk all over you.

well, for $40, do you think it is worth it to seek some surveillance of the area? surveillance would show you putting 8 quarters in the meter...make sure parking rates haven't gone up either.

Surveillance of the area would only show you standing at the meter going through the motions of what appears to be someone putting quarters in the machine. Unless there is a close-up of the meter there is no accounting of what you put into the meter via video. IMO, it's not worth the time. Just bite the bullet and pay the ticket, it's only $40.
