    measuring the humidity
    question for ya, i just recently installed the accurite thermometer that also measures humidity. but i also have a seperate humidity gague, the accur rite says one thing 40 and its installed under the news paper and the other gague says 70 and is above the water dish. which is right? if the accurite is right is correct how do i up it? i already have a big water dish in there.

    what do u mean its under the newspaper, the accurtie should be on top of the substrate. The gauge type hygro meters have been known to be up to 20% off.

    i thought seeing as i use a thin layer of paper that it would be better to be there and out of the snakes way then getting moved around by the snake on top of the paper. not good? good?

    Not good you wnat get a true reading under the substrate for heat or humidity. those come with and adheasive(sticky) mounting bracket that what I use and it works great.

    so would moveing it to the side wall right on top of the substrate by is hide be better then?

    Yes with out a doubt. And the analog one over the water bowl could be reading high because its over the water bowl.

    Heres a good pic of how one of my vivs is set up.

    Now the probe had been moved after the pic its now under the hide one the substrate but other than that.

    PetsMart Clearance. I like to look in the fish tank section for some of my decorations for my VIV's. I think thats where I got that its a fish tank decoration
