Nippy Albino Nelson's Milksnake
I just bought an Albino Nelson's Milksnake and it has bitten me everytime I have held it. Is this common with small snakes? I understand that it may be scared but after it sees the bitting doesn't do any good it should calm down right? But this one doesn't. I have a ball python and red tail boa and have never been bitten by either of those.
Thanks
Trey

A lot of lampropeltis are pretty squirmy and/or bitey as hatchlings, especially nelsoni. It should calm down as it grows, and with regular handling, but you will likely have a few bites along the way.

Yes.. quite common with young colubrids of many species. Just be patient with him and handle him as calmly as you can (wear gloves if you feel the need)
