New guy info

Hi Everyone,

I'm not only new to BP net but forums in general. I was hoping someone could give me some info on private messages, list subscriptions, buddy list and attachments. I kinda know what some are but rather than assume I would like to hear the correct usage. I just wanna make sure I'm doing it right and not stepping on toes.

welcome to the forums. you will learn how the forums work eventually and you'll find that it is one of the best resources for info

As for PM's, you can view your PM's by looking in the top right corne.. it will say:

Welcome, westcoastjungle.
You last visited: Today at 01:28 AM
Private Messages: 0 Unread, Total 0.

Private Messages will be highlighted in blue (if you haven't changed the theme of the board, which you can do)
Just click that and it will take you to your inbox. If you want to send someone a PM, just click their name, and hit "send message via Private Message"..or something similar to that

i don't pay much attention to list subscriptions, but my buddy list i just started messing with. you just click to view any users profile, and there's a link that says "add to buddy list"...your buddy list just lets you know what friends are online and offline

Attachments are not allowed on this forum, but, if you wish to share pictures, there is a gallery that you can upload pictures to.
There are codes, called vB codes, that you put in while typing to get different effects...here's the link:

Everyone here is always willing to answer questions, you just hafta ask (or search :))

Private messages are basically messages sent between individuals. You can click on a member's profile and send user a pm. Then write away...

You can 'subscribe' to threads, and be updated anytime that a new post is made to that particular thread.

The buddy list is just that. You can add a person to your buddy list by going to their profile. Then click on Add to buddy list.

Attachments are not enabled on this forum, but that does not limit you on posting pictures... obviously.

in the top left corner of your screen is your User CP this gives you access to your reputation points, a place to change your signature, avatar, profile etc.

you can also access your pm's through this page.
