How do I live feed mult. mice?
Ok, I'm ready to try Kona's 2nd live feeding. Last week she took a mouse fairly quickly, and many of you guys told me that she could easily take 2-3 at one feeding (she's about 4 1/2 ft, 16 years old, although recently adopted by me). So tonight I have 3 mice on hand, and I don't know how to go about this! Do I put all three in with her at once? Wait until she's swallowed one and then toss in a 2nd?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I wouldnt put 3 mice in at the same time. Just drop one in there and wait till that ones gone then repeat!:carrot:
Re: How do I live feed mult. mice?
Dana,
I offer one at a time. Two is all that my kids get each week, even my 1100 gram girl (unless there are "leftovers" from the other crew).
I wait until the first mouse is fully consumed, and they have adjusted their jaws and are settled back down, most of mine are back in strike position from their hides when they are ready for the next one.
Under no circumstances should all three be put into the enclosure at the same time. Good questions! :D

One at a time, drop one let him swallow, drop another after the first is completely swallowed don't wait too long, just until you see him start to tongue flick again, then the last the same as the second
hope that helps

Re: How do I live feed mult. mice?
I always wait till the first mouse is gone. I have seen people put in multiple mice and have seen a mouse run up and bite the snake while it was trying to eat the first one. I also never leave a mouse in the tank if the snake doesn't feed in the first couple minutes.
Re: How do I live feed mult. mice?
Thanks for all of the great advice. Unfortunately, when I went to feed last night I saw that her eyes are dusty and she had no interest in the mouse. So I'm bumping up humidity and leaving her alone, hoping that she'll shed quickly and come out of it hungry :)

Just feed up those mouse for a few days to a week and she'll likely be ready to go (and you'll have even chubbier mice to offer her...win/win situation). :)
