    Female Leo pic
We picked this girl up a few weeks ago from the local herp shop, she was with a male for breeding and over the past week, it seems like shes doubled in size. Ive never bred leopard geckos before so I dont know what they are supossed to look like before the lay the egg(s) (I know Bps look like they swollowed a football). So I put a nesting box in her tub and I havnt seen her in it yet but shes been in the humid hide almost non-stop.

i think they normally form 2 eggs at a time and they should be visible from her belly side especially pretty far back near her back legs. In the pics ive saw it was pretty obvious, but im sure they were pretty far along.

Get me a belly shot if you can. You can clearly see the eggs when a female is about to drop. Just make sure you have a humid hide in and if you want to make it easier, an incubator. I've tried to incubate 2 clutches of leo eggs without an incubator and neither survived.

Ok ill try to get a belly shot of her. Like I said earlier she looks like shes doubled in size, and its very noticeable. Plus shes been extremely moody lately, I pull out her tub and ive never seen a leo run so fast. Ive got a nest box filled with vermiculite in there and a big old fridge incubator just waiting.

They typically lay 2 eggs at a time. However, the very first clutch may only have one egg.

If you gecko is anything like my female, she'll lay the eggs in the humid hide and ignore the nestbox

    Good luck :D

Also, there is a good chance that the first clutch of eggs will be infertile but its always good to incubate them. I I just use bed a beast in a cool whip container and a hole in the side for a lay box. You'll notice her getting restless and then you may see the humidhide bedding spread around the entrance to the hide. Thats the best indicator there are eggs burried in there. Remember to keep them how they were layed(same side up)
