No more spills- 8 oz deli cup holder...
I was having a problem with my 250-400g BP's knocking over their water bowl (an 8 oz deli cup) seems like every 15 minutes or so. After about 3 months of this, I had to come up with an idea. I tried the 4" coupler from Home depot/Lowes but that was too tall for both the 8 oz sup and the 6qt shoebox that they were in. Through talking with Jamie (jglass38) we came up with the idea to cut a 4" PVC pipe to fit the 8oz cup. We got together at my house last week and we cut some PVC to 1.5" lengths. We then put the snake directly on the edge of the bowl. The bowl did not tip!! Its been a week and no tipped bowls!! I've also seen a few of them rubbing on the rim of the PVC to assist in shedding....double duty!!
Just thought that I would post a pic of it.....What do ya all think?

Very cool.. I use the PVC adapters (the couplers for some reason don't fit the deli cups)

Most of my snakes can't tip them.. just one of my boas has an affinity for making a steam bath, and my young burm likes to tip his in his zeal for 'killing' his p/k rat. :)

 That was EXACTLY what I was thinking! I hadn't heard any reports of loss of fingers or such, so I figured he must have not touched the power tools. ;) Poor Jamie. :petting:

What is the best/easiest way to cut those?

I wont buy that you actually had a pipe cutting tool :)

edit: Is having it stick up and out like that better than getting a wider pipe and having it sit down in? Also, how tall is that :)

I've been planning on doing this for a while since Adam had mentioned it a while back, but I have issues :)

    And I'll take 80. :)

Seriously though... someone should REALLY go out and buy up some 6, 15, 32 and 41qt tubs, burn holes... buy up some 4" PVC couplers and then sell 'em here... I'm sure that in numbers, with ground shipping through FedEx or UPS or even USPS someone could make some dough.. :) Just won't be me... I'm WAY too lazy for all that nonsense! :colbert:
