    blood? Cloacal area?
Ok So a few weeks ago after I got Columbus one morning I found a splotch of blood in his cage - and thought maybe it was the bark bleeding onto his paper towels (I put Bark on the bottom and then 2 layers of paper towels on top to hold the humidity in, anyhow)...

Then earlier this week I noticed a blotch of blood on my shirt, but thought maybe it was a stain or something, so I thought I would keep an eye on him - there is NO BLOOD in his cage.

So I was holding him today and he decided to pee all over me (again 2x this week) and when he was done peeing there was a blotch of blood left on my pant leg again - so I looked at his cloacal area and sure enough there was just a bit of blood there????

Any ideas?? His shed was 2 weeks ago so it was not from a shed:(

    Thanks:)

well it certainly doesn't sound good, and I don't think anyone can give you a diagnosis over the internet...a vet trip is the obvious recommendation here. Good luck.. please keep us updated

Thanks:) yes I will definately take him to the vet but I thought I would ask here first so I can ask questions at the vet office to make sure they don't overlook anything. I have not quite yet found a vet that makes me feel like they are passionate about BP's :(

Yea well I am asking BP's Rock who lives here in Colorado for his vets name, the one I went to did not handle my baby the way I would have liked, he was a little rough and matter of factly! I guess you could say his bedside manners sucked!

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts - Now I just hope I can sleep tonight:( I can't stand the thought of something being wrong with him:( He even refused to eat today - instead he climbed out of his cage and onto my lap!

Yes - that is where I found the one that I had picked out - who was then "off" the day I needed her and referred me to the one I went to. :( Maybe I will try the one that was "off" the day I needed her.... Waiting for the offices to open .....:(

Some blood (very little) from around the cloacal area is normal during a shed. Outside of shed time, I haven't seen it. How much blood are we talking about?
