    Go with Professional Rack?
I've got a 6 hole rack filled up right now in my snake closet. I have no room to put another rack next to it so I have to build up. Im thinking of adding a couple more female amaralis and I have no room. Right now my rack is a DIY melamine heated with flexwatt. Last time I added a snake I built a top unit and just added it to the top of the rack. Would there be any reason not to do this. Or should I just go with an AP or Boaphile rack.

That's completely up to you man. If you've got the tools and the confidence to build your own rack, then it will be cheaper to to do it on your own.

If you don't have the time to build your own and don't feel like dealing with building and all the other little things that go along with it, then I say buy one. Don't forget to check out herpenclosures.com too

I've built all of my own racks, and because it was a financial reason, I would do it again.

BUT , it can be a lot of work, and usually heavier (wood vs pvc?), and depending on how you do it , be lower quality :)

If you have money, Id say go with professional lightweight rack, stackable, easier to move, etc :)

Heres the problem, its either better racks or more snakes. I can build a rack for easy 1/2 the price of a plastic. My dad is a professional carpenter and has all the tools you would ever need. Right now I have a 6 slot 27qt sterilite melamine rack in the middle of my closet. Could I stack a 4 slot 41qt sterilte on it. I plan on adding a one foot spacer beside the rack to allow for a 3' base for the 41qt rack.

Just got a vision rack it was cheaper than others a the most versatile rack around. I highly recommend. i already have a freedom breeder great but expensive! I also have an animal plastics rack, it's nice but difficult to move (once a rat got under it). The Vision is the the most reasonable if you are gonna buy one
