    HELP with heat cable.
    ok you guys are scaring me abotu the tape in the terariium so i went and bought a zoo med heat cable...it says the first 6.5ft is cold lead, but doesnt exactly describe it. will it be 10 degrees cooler than the hot lead...? should i run the cool lead all throughout the cool side and then graduate it to the hot side then arrange it...just looking for some help.....i wish the description/instructions would explain more

    I wont get in too much detail here........however the cool lead is no heat........it is the cord leading to the heating part.

    ok now..all setup how much of a difference should there be between having the temp prob in the tank on the inside or directly to the heat cable? because there's a huge flucuaton between the thermostat turnign on and off and have it to almsost all the way low and thermometer says it gets up to 96-97 then drops all the way to 88deg...WTF...i'm confused...dont' want the themometer probe in the tank for fear fo having to tape it..a little more help please.

    ok..i'm now trying it with the thermometer probe under the newsprint substrate on the glass in the enclosure and the thremostat probe still taped to the large end of the heat cable under the enclosure...i will see how this works out. turns out there was still a little sticky stuff from the original adhesive left on the thermometer probe so i could stick it and i was able to leave enough cable to give it slack and keep in place. now i wait.

    i think i may need to put the thermometer probe on top of the paper acutally in the hide ...what do you think?
