different rack types?

Hi,

I just read in a seperate thread about "open air" rack types as opposed to closed drawer types - could someone please explain what the open air one is?:confused:

Pics would be handy as I'm feeling a little thick this evening :(

So the only difference is the enclosure around the tubs?

If the closed type are better for heat control I will probably have to go for those. One question though;

Could this be caused by the open cage having a more defined light cycle? If so wouldn't it be a doddle to back light a closed rack using low energy bulbs ( almost no heat and last for years) on a timer?

If you don't think its light based what else do open racks provide that closed enclosures do not? Ventilation? Are all open rack back het and all closed botom het?

As I'm still at the design stage I would apprecite any input.
