I Need Help, Emergency! Snake Experts!

I need to know what to do with my albino burmese python. I lost her 3 months ago and I just found her outside in the rain with cold weather. She was right infront of the backyard door like as if she was waiting for me to open the door for her and let her in. I just opened the door and saw this white, 3 foot long stick laying on the floor and I jumped from the surprise. I thought I would never see her again because I tried every trick I had read to try and find her and trap her, I don't even know how she got out of the house and why she didn't take of somewhere else. She was stiff, almost like a frozen popsicle, she was flicking her tong in slow motion. She didn't even huff and puff like she did every time I tried to pick her up. I hurried up and picked her up (I didn't even think about how mean she is and it didn't even phase me until after I had picked her up). I hurried and put her in her cage with the heat turned up a bit and put a towel over her to make her feel safe, so what's next? :confused: Should I wait until she gets used to her cage to try and feed her or what else should I do? Has anyone had this experience before? Thanks in advance for all the replies. I am just so happy that I found her , but I am worried about her health too. :(

It was 3 months, not weeks. :P

You need to get her to the vet as soon as you can. Until then you wont know what is really wrong with her. More than likely she has a respiratory infection and might even have some kind of parasite in or on her from being outside and gone for so long.

Incredible that you found it though after 3 weeks! IF it were mine I'd take it to the vet. I'm sure it's enjoying its nice warm dry cage though!

It was three MONTHS not WEEKS! I am very serious about this. That is why I asked about feeding her right away or in a few days. I took her to the vet this morning and she kept her for the day to observe her. She said she checked out fine, surprisingly, but she wanted to keep an eye on her for 24hrs just in case. I learned my lesson, all my cages have locks now. Thanks for the replies. I will quarantine her just in case myself. :D

Yes MONTHS! Believe it or not. :O That is why I thought I would never see her again. :( But I am glad I found her, now I will not be wondering what happened to her. :D

Make sure it has plenty of time to settle in and warmed to proper temps before you feed. She has gone that long without food, another few days won't hurt.

A vet check does sound in order. I would treat her as a suspect new snake. I'd quarantine her, and allow her to have a week of quiet. After a week or maybe two, of letting her settle in, then go ahead and feed. No rush to feed her, she's probably had a meal or two on her own. Double check her enclosure so there will be no more escapes. Congrats on finding her.

im glad you found her!!! Head straight to a vet. Make sure she has plenty of hides and the right temprature gradient!

congrats on the find. i wouldn't turn up your heat though. leave it at the normal temps.
